Azar Design Co is seeking qualified full-time Construction Inspectors (NICET I, II, III or IV) to become part of our Construction Inspection teams supporting NYSDOT, NYS Thruway or County bridge, highway or traffic signals projects in the Capital Region. Multiple assignments are available.

Job Responsibilities:

· Perform field inspections and ensure contractors perform work as per the applicable project drawings, specifications and standards.

· Conduct field testing for concrete, asphalt, or other materials as necessary.

· Maintain accurate and complete inspection documents per MURK format and Site Manager on State projects or APPIA on County projects.

· Log and manage project submittals, RFI’s and correspondence.

· Accurately track contract change orders, material inspections and certifications.

Job Requirements:

· Related NICET Certification or education / experience equivalency.

· ACI Grade I Field technician certification.

· Traffic Control Certification, NETTCP, NACE and/or SSPC Certification a plus.

· OSHA 10 hr training.

· Minimum required field inspection experience on bridge, highway or traffic signal construction projects (N-I = 3 months; N-II = 1 year; N-III = 2 years; N-IV = 5 years).

· Working knowledge of NYSDOT, NYS Thruway or County standard specifications, policies, procedures, MURK and document management software.

· Ability interpret and comprehend contract drawings and specifications.

· Site Manager and/or APPIA experience.

· Travel on the jobsite(s) may be required.

· Availability for 8 to 10 hr work shifts.

· Availability to work night or weekends depending on the assignment.

· Ability and flexibility to work independently and as part of a team.

· Valid Driving license, reliable vehicle and current US Work eligibility required.

Pay Range:

Level I = $25.00 to $35, Level II = $30.00 to $45.00, Level III = $35.00 to $55.00, Level IV = $50.00 to $65.00

Actual pay rate will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications, experience and specific assignment.
